Giclée Prints on Canvas

In the Shop, you’ll find a range of Open Edition Prints and Limited Edition Prints. The artist personally proofs all printing herself to ensure the highest quality. The Limited Edition Prints are personally examined, signed, and numbered by Beverly Hooks. You’ll also receive a Certificate of Authenticity with purchase.

All Giclée prints are shipped rolled and ready to take to your framer to stretch and frame. Due to our stringent quality assurance process, Giclée prints may take 10 to 20 days to reach your doorstep safely.

When you or your loved one unrolls a stunning Giclée print of original artwork by Beverly Hooks, we know you will agree: Good things are worth the wait!

What is Giclée?

Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is a method of printing that creates high quality prints. In French, “la giclée” means, “that which is sprayed or squirted.” This style of printing started in the 1980s, when high-resolution digital scans were used in conjunction with archival quality inks.

Printmaker Jack Duganne coined the term in 1991. Today, Giclée describes fine art printing that uses pigment-based, archival quality inks, created by advanced inkjet printers.

What’s the main difference between Giclée and other print technologies?

Many traditional print technologies use a combination of only 4 colors, while Giclée printers use up to 12 individual colors.

This gives much smoother gradient transitions and a wider range of color, so you can expect more richness and depth in the final product.

Since the end result is almost indistinguishable from the original, Giclée prints are a great option for art lovers on a budget.

How long will Giclée prints last?

With proper care and storage, a giclee print can last over 100 years without fading! Frame and display your Giclée print in a location protected from direct sunlight, and it will look as stunning as the day you acquired it.
